Happy Independence Day to all the Indians out there!!!
Our
country is 65 years old today, and well, it has come a long way indeed.
On 15 August, 1947, we were one of the poorest countries in the world,
we depended on foreign aid to feed our people, and we were struggling to
find our place in the international community. Today, on 15 August,
2012, we export large amounts of food to other countries, we're one step
away from becoming permanent members of the elite UN Security Council
and we are poised to become a global superpower within a decade or two. A
really long way indeed.
