The fantastico city of Hyderabad

I have been brought up in the fantastico city of Hyderabad and to me, it shall always be the place that I call home. And I am really glad that I have been fortunate enough to be here. It is one of the fastest growing cities in India and the amount of development I've witnessed over the last few years is staggering.

The most fantastico thing about the city of the Nizams is that it is a perfect balance of everything. The traffic exists but it's not intolerable; there are huge sprawling malls but the greenery hasn't been wiped out altogether. People are always in a rush but there's also time to stop by and talk. One can feel quite safe here even if they are walking on an empty street at 11 in the night - something about which you can't boast in many cities.

Talking about places to visit, there is no dearth of those. The historic Charminar is always a marvellous sight to behold, and the nearby Salar Jung Museum - the largest one-man art collection in the world - transports you to a different era altogether. The Golconda Fort is also a masterpiece of architecture - something that one should definitely not miss on a visit to Hyderabad. The Birla Mandir is an important place of worship and also offers a great scenic view of the city from the hilltop. Runway 9 is a great place to hang out with friends. At the end of the day, there is no better place to chill out than the lakeside of the Hussain Sagar in the centre of the city. If you're willing to go a bit far, then the Durgam Cheruvu is a fantastico place too.

However, the best part about Hyderabad would be the biryani! This dish has earned name and fame all over the world, and the feel of having it at its original place is simply incomparable. There are numerous restaurants all across the city serving authentic Hyderabadi Biryani and you are bound to have yourself licking your finger at the end of a sumptuous meal. The cuisine is not just restricted to biryani; you can find foods catering to various types of tastes in this city.

Hyderabad is a fantastico city for shopaholics as well. You can get virtually anything you can think of, starting from international brands in Inorbit Mall down to the vendors in Sultan Bazaar. Those of you who are interested can also visit the famous bangle-sellers on the Charminar road.

Hyderabad is a fantastico place for people from all walks of life. This city is not just home to one kind of people - people belonging to different religions and speaking a variety of languages have made this city their home. There is a charm about this city that few others can rival; and for this reason, it is truly fantastico.

This blog post is inspired by the blogging marathon hosted on IndiBlogger for the launch of the #Fantastico Zica from Tata Motors. You can apply for a test drive of the hatchback Zica today.
